Fifty years ago, in an Altea that still moved to the gentle rhythm of fishing and agriculture, a project was born one that has become part of the memories of everyone who has joined us on this journey.

A dream come true

Our story began in the 1970s, with twelve friends and a shared dream.

With no background in hospitality but a clear vision, they decided to bet on a different future for Altea. They dreamed of a place where one could experience the charm of the Mediterranean up close a space to enjoy the sea and its calm.

That’s how Hotel Cap Negret was born: A project with soul.

The name came naturally, inspired by our privileged location by the sea and by the desire to pay tribute to this Mediterranean paradise that inspires us every day.

On July 1st, 1975 we opened our doors for the first time, marking the beginning of a story that went far beyond building a hotel. Cap Negret was a statement of intent of a bold commitment to foster a tourism industry in a place yet to be discovered.

Growing in rhythm with the Mediterranean

For decades, Hotel Cap Negret was much more than a place to stay. It was the setting for weddings, communions, local festivities and, of course, unforgettable nights in our nightclub, which defined an entire era in Altea and turned us into social and cultural hub for the whole region.

With hope and commitment, the second generation took over the project with their eyes set on the future. We then began a full renovation process that completely transformed our facilities and introduced new wellness and comfort services, without ever losing our essence: warmth, closeness, and personalized attention have always defined us.

In this new stage, we committed to sustainability and excellence , incorporating more efficient systems, responsible practices, and a renewed vision that placed value on the natural surroundings that embrace us.

When difference becomes identity

The creation of our Bike Zone marked a turning point. It was one of our boldest and most transformative moves.

We designed a space where cyclists of all levels could live out their passion on two wheels, with tailor-made services accompanying every ride and turning their stay into a complete cycling experience.

Thanks to this transformation, we broke with seasonality and began welcoming guests all year round. We led the way in Spain’s cycling tourism movement and were awarded the Cycling Friendly GOLD certification and the Bike Territory seal granted by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation.

Today, we are the cycling hotel on the Costa Blanca , chosen year after year by both amateur cyclists and professional World Tour teams who trust Cap Negret to prepare for their season.

Since then, we have grown into an international benchmark in cycling tourism and the perfect destination for those looking to disconnect by the sea, in a place where peace and nature blend seamlessly.

A journey we’ve shared

It’s been five decades of history. A path that began with the visionary dream of a group of friends and, with passion and dedication, has become a symbol of sustainable, active, and quality tourism in Altea and the Costa Blanca.

At the heart of every milestone and step we’ve taken, there have always been people. None of this would have been possible without every single person who has been part of this adventure.

This anniversary is just the beginning of a new chapter, one we hope to keep writing together.
